The US has sent ships with 17,000 sailors and Marines into the Persian Gulf on Wednesday as a sign of strength towards Iran and on top of that ABC's blog is reporting that Bush has authorized covert action against Iran. Hundreds of school aged kids from isolated villages from Teza, in the center of Burundi ran away from school in fear that they would be eaten by a white snake hunter who was seen recently in the forests. Paul Wellstone once said that politics is about the improvement of people's lives, however, that may no longer be true. Working in politics has afforded me a unique insight into the political world. I've witnessed some people that actually care about doing good and helping others. I've also witnessed others that seem to treat it as a social event and are only concerned with advancing their party agenda. Overall, it was an important learning experience and quite moving to see the Presidential candidates speak. I attended the event on behalf of ther Term Limits and Legislative Reform Act (www.termlimitsreform.com) and I worked our booth there gathering signatures for our initiative and informing folks on our initiative. I personally attended the speeches for Hillary Clinton, Barak Obama, John Edwards, Bill Richardson and a host of others. Personally, I found Barak's speech to be the most moving and up bea ... (more)
